Bengals -5.5 vs Texans

Joe Burrow dealt with a calf injury early in the season. It may or may not be the reason the Bengals started slow. It has become a trend early in Burrow's career. A 1-3 start had a lot of people writing off the Bengals' postseason chances. A 4-game win streak including wins over the Seahawks, the 49ers (Banged up but a W nonetheless), and the most recent statement over the Bills has flipped the script. A talented team coming around to their lofty expectations.
As impressive as C.J. Stroud was last week in the Texans huge comeback victory I can't see him nor the Texans repeating it against the red hot Bengals. Stroud may very well break the Ohio State QB curse. A rookie-record 470 yards passing last week. 14 TDs to only 1 INT. It's all impressive. The question still remains though. Can first-year head coach DeMeco Ryans rein in the young and surging Texans after an emotional win?
I like the Bengals to make it 5 in a row and cover the spread as well. Stroud's time is coming. Just not this week.
49ers -3.0 @ Jaguars

The 49ers come in off the bye after losing their last 3 games. The Jaguars have been on a tear having won their last 5 games. At home against a struggling and banged up 49ers team this spread stinks to high heaven. What do the oddsmakers know that I don't? Jacksonville should be favored. Sometimes I'd say don't think too hard about it they're giving you a freebie. Not this one though. The 49ers need this more than the Jags. Back-to-back division games coming up for the Jags. The 49ers in games following the bye are 36-16 under Shanahan. These are two Super Bowl caliber teams. I wouldn't be shocked to see these two teams see each other again this season. All that being said I like the 49ers to win and cover.
Lions -3.0 @ Chargers

Home dogs are always tricky to figure out making NFL picks. The Chargers under Brandon Staley are tough to trust as well. I do have faith in these Lions. They have a strong O-Line (Run and Pass), Top 10 QB, make big plays, and can get to the passer with 4 (Aidan Hutchinson.) Ben Johnson has been super creative in his time with the Lions. Off the bye week I like what they'll be able to build on with Jahmyr Gibbs looking very comfortable in Week 8. Dan Campbell will certainly have the Lions ready to rock as a whole. This will not be the Lions team that got blown out by the Ravens.
As talented as Justin Herbert is I can't trust his head coach. I would expect Herbert to battle it out and play well in this one. I don't think it will be enough. It's a near reincarnation of Philip Rivers at this rate. He deserves better than a "defensive" head coach that, yet again, has a bottom half defense.
Lions win and cover. They're a legit Super Bowl threat.
