The week we've been looking for! All the locks hit which I hoped you folks parlayed! A solid week overall heading into a wild Week 18. A lot of QBs are sitting this week. Some to preserve their health for the playoffs, others because the team doesn't want to pay a garaunteed portion of their contract. Mike Vrabel has already attested to why he hates tanking. Will other coaches have the same approach? Ron Rivera and others will be on their way out. Will players show up for them or pack it in?
Let's finish this season strong. I don't care who's in at QB! I don't care who's on the field! It's time to get these right heading into the playoffs! Week 18 NFL Picks coming at ya!
Patriots (-2.5) vs Jets
It has been an ugly season for both these teams. QB troubles early on for different reasons has raveged both these teams. The Jets ownership has committed to Robert Saleh and his staff for another season. The same can't be said for Bill Belichick accorrding to media reports. It's alleged that the Krafts and Bill will sit down for a "very difficult conversation." What coach doesn't have a difficult conversation after a losing season of this magnitude? It isn't hard news until Kraft announces he's fired. I wouldn't be shocked either. It's a results based business as Bill has always said. That being said if this is Bill's last ride in Foxborough expect him to go out with a statement. Patriots win and cover!
Cowboys (-13.0) @ Commanders
Still a whole lot to play for in Maryland. The NFC East is still up for grabs, and if the Cowboys win it's theirs. Ron Rivera is expected to be fired after this season. I don't see this team battling it out for him. There's been so much going on with the QB room for this team. On top of that the Commanders are one of the most sacked teams in the NFL. The Cowboys defense and pass rush will show up. Tey alone should be able to cover this spread. Dallas does not want to open this postseason on the road. Expect the Cowboys to smell blood in the water, put the heat on early, and coast to an easy victory and cover.
49ers (4.0) vs Rams
I don't know what it is, but there's just soemthing about Sam Darnold in this 49ers offense that I like. I like it so much I'll bet them to cover today against the Rams. Darnold squares off against Carson Wentz in a battle of former top draft picks now relegated to backup duty. This is the reality of Week 18 in the NFL. If you can't handle the heat get out the kitchen! I'm locking a game with a battle of backups. There's still better odds of this hitting than any playoff parlays. Thos are astronomically improbable. In reality it is Shanahan vs McVay and I'm rocking with Shanahan. 49ers win and cover.
